The only thing that stands ... No, it’s no joke. The only thing that stands between us and total tyranny at the federal level are the lower magistrates, who should at least make a show of their displeasure with the Supreme Court’s unlawful acts of legislating the law. You may think people who hold this view must be a joke, whackjob or an uneducated hick, but these same views were shared by many of the framers of our constitution. That’s why many, demanded a “Bill of Rights” to guard against tyranny. If you want to educate yourself on this subject just go to “The Charters of Freedom,” a US government website that archives many of the documents written by these “whackjobs.” On the Marbury v. Madison decision of 1803 the author comments, “most of the Framers of the Constitution anticipated that the Federal judiciary would be the weakest branch of Government…” Well, our founding fathers were not perfect but any uneducated hick can see that the Supreme Court has become tyrants and have clearly exceeded the powers given to them by the constitution in regards to their most recent decision. Chief Justice John Marshall wrote in 1821, “The people made the Constitution, and the people can unmake it. It is the creature of their will, and lives only by their will.” So this resolution by Karen Miller is no joke. It is an attempt by the people to have our representatives do their job, represent the people of this community, not Boston, and express the will of the people by passing the resolution. Believe me, I’m sure we have enough whackjobs and uneducated hicks in this county to make our will known to our representatives that seem to have lost their way. <br /> Yes, I could petition God directly, and I do so daily, but I believe He holds me accountable for the decisions made by my representatives. You can delegate authority but you can never delegate responsibility. I firmly believe if I set back and do nothing I will be just as much to blame for the wrath which is to come as those who think God’s laws are a joke. God expects every believer to stand against evil. Even our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin believed that resistance to tyranny was obedience to God. Whether God’s judgment comes upon us at the hand of tyrants and unjust judges or whether it comes through war, famine or brimstone from heaven, what matters is that we take a stand against tyranny and stand for God. Otherwise we will receive our just reward. So let’s obey God Blount County. God’s wrath is not a joke. So quit worrying about what outsiders call us. If you believe in Go...I was hoping this was a joke. If you believe in God why do you need to ask the gov't to petition God to not "smite" your town? It's legislation like this that makes all christians look like whackjobs and the state of Tennessee like uneducated hicks. I'm sure God is sitting there checking his list of towns that have passed legislation before bringing his wrath. Tim_Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08234534714758302929noreply@blogger.com
